Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join an established supplier of children and womens’ footwear brands, looking to recruit a new Designer with creative flair to design commercial, trend led ranges. 

Footwear Designer – Children and Womens’ – The Role

  • Development of children and womens’ footwear collections, from initial concept to final sample stage.
  • Researching trends, attending trade shows, comp shopping and producing reports.
  • Creating mood boards, shapes, colours and fabrics.
  • To source and select new materials, fabrics and trims.  Identifying innovation to drive forward existing and new product ranges.
  • Awareness of costings and budget control
  • Liaising with and presenting product to senior management and retail Buyers

Footwear Designer – Children and Womens’ – The Candidate

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in Footwear Design or similar
  • Knowledge of the footwear market, and its future trends. A knowledge of foot anatomy.
  • A keen interest in footwear, fashion, design and textiles.
  • Good drawing skills. Fully literate in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop. Indesign beneficial.
  • An understanding of different textile materials and production methods to engineer best price/costs.
  • Confident communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent organisational ability.  Ability to self-manage and work in a team environment.
  • Able to travel offshore.
