Job Description

I am looking for an experienced Garment Tech, with knowledge of Socks, Underwear and Loungewear, this is a great opportunity to join an established business with a great reputation in the industry. You will work across Men’s and Women’s and Children’s product for the UK High Street, liaising with the client and the suppliers, you will be the main contact for quality and fit.

Garment Technologist / QC – The role

  • You will work across all product categories, socks, slippers, loungewear and underwear to develop fits, specs, and product that meet quality and safety standards
  • You will be responsible for managing the suppliers, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • You will be responsible for managing the technical department and management/training of juniors/interns as required.
  • Advise best processes and methods to keep manufacture costs to a minimum.
  • Ensure quality is maintained to brand image
  • You will work closely with the design teams to ensure new developments are achievable and cost effective
  • Manage the critical path.
  • Manage the factory audits/compliance
  • Mange, action and compile test reports.
  • Manage the approval of first fits and sealing samples and order trims, wash care labels and other components for production.
  • You will be the main point of contact for suppliers and customers, you will manage relationships and attend fits and sign offs.
  • Manage and inspect any returns and make any necessary improvements to processes.

Garment Technologist / QC – The candidate

  • You will have a number of years’ experience in a similar role
  • You will be confident working with European and Far Eastern suppliers and be able to communicate well.
  • Knowledge of childrenswear testing and safety standards is essential.
  • Experience in a similar product area is essential with a strong understanding of construction methods and development process.
  • You will be confident liaising with all levels within the business and present well in front of customers.
  • Confident problem solver and ability to build strong relationships
  • Must be flexible to travel to East Midlands at least once weekly, and to suppliers as necessary.
