This is an exciting opportunity for a recent fashion graduate who has an interest in a career as a garment tech.
My client is a modern and successful high street supplier with beautiful studios in North London. They are looking for a driven, enthusiastic, and organised individual to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and keen to start their first industry role.
Graduate Garment Tech – The Role
- Working closely with the Garment Technician on a daily basis
- Responsible for the fit and production samples – preparing, steaming, and photographing and tagging all incoming samples
- Assisting the Garment Technician with measuring fit and production samples, recording all measurements accurately and addressing any issues
- Working with the Garment Tech to check the quality of all samples, highlighting any make issues and ensuring they are recorded in workbooks
- Preparing samples to go out to customer fit meetings on a daily basis
- Attend customer fit meetings where required along with the Garment Technician
- Prepare testing requirements, chase incoming test reports, and read all reports to highlight any issues to the Garment Technician
- Chase customer fit and production samples, ensuring everything runs on time in line with the critical path
- Updating the production section of the critical path on a daily basis, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Attend a weekly meeting with the production team
- Assist the Garment Tech on any other duties they may need to be carried out
Graduate Garment Tech – The Person
- Fashion related degree
- Organised with excellent time management skills
- Good construction knowledge
- Great Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Punctual and efficient
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
- Passion for product and the industry
- Must have work experience – ideally completed an industry placement year
- Experience using Optitex is advantageous
