An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK’s top global manufacturers with offices and distribution centres Internationally. With a presence in the UK for over twenty years they have a rare opportunity for an Assistant Merchandiser to join the team. Please get in touch urgently for more information.

Assistant Merchandiser (Menswear) – The Role:

  • Responsible for timely delivery of garments to the customers, developing and identifying best sources for all products and managing stock levels.
  • Preparation of order confirmation sheets and raising purchase orders with factories.
  • Chasing suppliers for samples and liaising with them about quality, price and delivery times.
  • Liaising with in-house design, sales, buying and technical teams.
  • To proactively develop relationships with customers and factories to enable the smooth running of the critical path.
  • Ensure effective communication at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Support the sales team in finding the right source for any given product.
  • Vessel planning and delivery into warehouse for landed shipments and customers warehouse for FOB shipments.

Assistant Merchandiser (Menswear) – The Person:

  • Looking for a confident, self-motivated Assistant Merchandiser with proven experience in a similar role and a determination to exceed targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment and handling important accounts would be advantageous.
  • Previous critical path management experience is essential as is the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. 
  • Highly organised, methodical and process driven.
  • Sound technical abilities with regards to garment construction will be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Excel (spreadsheet), Charts for data analysis and working knowledge of power point is desirable
  • The essential skills required for this role are excellent communication, administration, accuracy and numeracy skills and being well organised, highly enthusiastic and self-motivated.
