Job Description

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced Import Merchandiser to join their team working across multi product apparel.

You will be working alongside the Senior Merchandiser across specific retail accounts, you will be responsible for taking the products from initial concept right through to delivery –the main purposes being to deliver the product at the right price and at the right time, working closely with suppliers in the Far East and other internal departments.

Import Merchandiser – The Role

  • Raise, manage and track purchase orders and amend where necessary.
  • Create and manage the Critical Path to ensure agreed delivery dates are maintained.
  • Liaising with factories based overseas on a day to day basis, ensuring samples, lab dips etc. are received according to CP
  • Responsible for the timely delivery of all samples and submissions to customers.
  • Advising and approving all labelling / packaging / testing information following customer manuals.
  • Liaising with customers, responding promptly to communications to ensure all needs are met.
  • Arrange Bulk Test Reports with the Factories and vendors.
  • Manage High street accounts and build strong relationships with retail customers and suppliers.
  • Other administrative duties as required.

Import Merchandiser – The Candidate

  • Ideally 2/3yrs experience in a merchandising position from an import merchandising or wholesale background.
  • A good understanding of import merchandising and managing critical path is essential.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office.
  • Conscientious and self-motivated and must be able to work within a team and on own initiative, with minimal supervision.
  • Looking for a candidate who is happy to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and do what is required to achieve results. Due to the nature of a working in a small business the role will be varied and hands on.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and negotiation skills as will be dealing with Far East factories on a daily basis.
  • Team player who can handle a busy workload.
