Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience with luxury apparel brands, and would suit someone with 12 months experience in similar support role within either a production or buying environment.

Your role will be to prove administrative support across the production team and across collections, throughout the cycle from order placement through to delivery, ensuring on time production delivery is achieved.

 

Production Assistant – The Job Outline

  • Provide administrative support to the Production Team and Manager across collections and brands
  • Create product files on our in house stock system Prima once we have CAD line sheets finalised from Design at the start of every season
  • Create SMS & bulk production purchase orders
  • Purchase order management/ maintenance – update all POs with updated pricing and ex- factory dates working closely with Production Manager on this
  • Communicate with Finance Team on any invoicing queries – ensure all supplier payments are made promptly in line with payment terms
  • Support team with DHL shipments incoming & outgoing
  • Support team on management of non- stock POs to mills and trim suppliers
  • Calculate out trim requirements and bookings – feeding into Production Manager
  • Coordinate with factories on photo shoot samples and manage sample logistics with internal teams
  • Review Design Tech packs and communicate out to factories when amended post seasonal fit session – work with Design to flag and quickly update any errors
  • Work with factories to confirm on pricing/ delivery on POs
  • Manage WIP process with factories – ensure regular updates are maintained in Master Production Tracker
  • Collaborate closely with Garment Tech to ensure all samples are managed and processed in a timely fashion
  • Manage freight bookings with factories & freight partner – approve quotes based on agreed rates
  • Point of contact for product queries

Production Assistant – The Person Specification

  • Previous experience in production/ buying role within fashion
  • Excellent communication Skills
  • Computer literate (MS Outlook / Word / Excel)
  • Quick thinking and problem solving ability
  • Systems experience – managing information on Prima /PLM / Zedonk
  • Supplier management experience
  • Critical path management, highly organised and ability to resolve problems

Production Assistant – This is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave until end December 2019.
