Job Description

This is an exciting time to be joining a business, driving for change and looking to recruit an experienced Pattern Technologist/Technician. You will be part of the product development team, looking to challenge existing product and bring innovation to range design. Our client is an established brand, who is putting in place the team, and has ambitions to become a leading provider across Europe in mens and womenswear apparel.  An interest in performance led clothing would be desirable.

Senior Pattern Technologist – The Job Role

  • Create initial/concept flat paper patterns when appropriate from initial sketches
  • Develop patterns to design concepts, manipulate existing blocks utilizing Gerber computer pattern system or similar
  • Agree block type and continuously review and improve to ensure correct figure types are used
  • Ensure these are developed to the pre-determined timescales appropriate to project and determined by manager
  • Liaise with sample room to ensure pattern and fit test and carried out appropriately in line with the product development procedures and requirements
  • Propose pattern engineering to achieve improved fabric utilization
  • Digitize concept patterns into CAD/CAM system appropriately to product development procedures and requirements
  • Amend patterns as required as a result of garment technologist request, wearer trial or as appropriate
  • Produce accurate graded patterns and size charts using CAD/CAM to customer fit requirements
  • Establish a fabric and trim rating were appropriate
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure pattern integrity and accuracy is maintained and that the patterns are production viable
  • Ensure accurate and timely planning of resources coordinating with team members
  • Ensure all specification and size charts are correct in PLM using Adobe Illustrator
  • Co-ordinate fit reviews for all products as appropriate

Senior Patten Technologist – The Person Specification

  • Looking for a confident and experienced pattern cutter/pattern technician with 4years experience and good understanding of the garment production process
  • Knowledge of Gerber Accumark Pattern System (CAD)
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Word, Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain good working relationship with customers and suppliers
  • To be able to work in an accurate manner with attention to detail
  • Understanding of product certification
  • Good organizational and time management skills
