My client is a well-established womenswear retailer providing the high street with high quality, affordable ladies fashion, through its multiple stores and fantastic website.

This is a senior role within the business - your job title will actually be Head of Merchandising so this is an amazing opportunity for an existing Senior Retail Merchandiser role, looking for that next step.

You will be managing a small team who you will be training and motivating, but your own role will also be extremely hands on and pivotal to the business. The right candidate will be analytical, commercial and driven, with an excellent work ethic.

Senior Retail Merchandiser – The Role:

  • Driving sales, markdown, stock turn and profit through the planning and assembly of commercial ranges.
    • Update and forecast the WSSI.
    • Review Sales and Top/Bottom selling lines etc., in order to suggest markdowns, grade changes and repeat buys.
    • Managing a small team; providing guidance and training. Ensuring the individuals and the team as a whole are performing to best ability.
    • Forecast trends and plan stock levels.
    • Undertake Store visits, building relationships with stores to enable two way feedback, on a regular basis.
    • Working with Area Managers and VM Manager on store grading and customer profiling.
    • Monitoring stock performances, setting prices, budgeting and costing.
    • Making commercial decisions using the available company reports and recognising need for new, additional reports if required.
    • Accountable for seasonal budget.
    • Working with the FD on fiscal forecast.

Senior Retail Merchandiser – The Candidate:

  • Candidates must have a solid industry experience within Retail Merchandising at a senior level, within fashion.
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Understanding of range planning.
  • Working knowledge of forecasting principles.
  • Must be commercial and able to plan and organise well.
  • Experience of managing and developing a small team is required.
  • Experience with WSSI reports, line performance and branch analysis
  • Must have strong numerical/analytical skills.
  • Must be IT literate and with sold understanding of Microsoft Excel.
  • Multitasking in a fast paced working environment.
  • Be an effective communicator.
  • Must be from a fashion background.
