Job Description

Our client is recruiting for a creative and talented Brand Designer for Swimwear to join the team designing full figure swimwear for one the global and growing market leaders. This brand is about celebrating curves and offering vibrant, exciting and fashionable swimwear which fit.

Working under the guidance of the Senior Designer and Head of Design you will design and develop product in line with our brand strategy and our quality of fit.

Swimwear Designer – The Job Specification

  • Research and interpret trends, and collate trend boards
  • Design and develop product in line with the brand identity
  • Work to and achieve critical path deadlines
  • Produce technically and commercially viable and aesthetically pleasing products in line with market requirements.
  • Engineer designs to meet target cost requirements
  • Fit garments, make and grade patterns, to an agreed fit standard
  • Use software to generate technical drawings and CAD’s
  • Work with technical teams to generate costings
  • Source and develop materials to meet cost and fit requirements
  • Demonstrate brand and market awareness and be able to apply in line with market requirements
  • Travel to Trade shows & fayres, undertake comp shopping, inspiration trips to develop your knowledge of market trends

Swimwear Designer – Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Ideal applicant will have degree in Contour or Lingerie. Minimum of 2-5years swim, lingerie or shapewear design experience with a strong eye for print/colour and detail.
  • Previous fit experience – is essential
  • Confident manual pattern cutting skills. An awareness of grading (Modaris system) would be advantageous, however training will be provided.
  • Ability to identify trends and colours into fabulous and commercial products
  • Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator competency
  • You must be a team player.
  • Highly organized, passionate and efficient, with strong problem solving skills, and have a can-do attitude
  • Flexible and comfortable sharing ideas and working in a team
  • Ability to travel as and when required
