Technical Manager – Job Description

  • Manage & establish R&D projects that align with business expectations
  • Develop QC department & in-house quality procedures
  • Develop & implement Standard Operation Procedures
  • Influence and manage others without authority
  • Lead strategic technical development, through value engineering and enhanced technology
  • Lead team in holding Suppliers accountable to company expectations and drive to improve performance
  • Train Team to trouble shoots all issues relating to raw materials development and arriving at effective, timely solutions
  • Lead team on technical approval process, supervise including validation of material Specification and development testing results.
  • Manage chemical compliance with reference to REACH, COSHH & ZDHC
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of latest government regulations, restrictions, safety protocols and performance standards for Raw Materials & Finished goods
  • Provide Technical guidance and support to Production Team

Technical Manager – Person Specification

  • Preferable Degree in Materials Technology or Engineering (Textiles, Leather or Chemicals)
  • This opportunity is open to Finishing Supervisor, or similar experience looking to step up to the next level.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in leading a technical development team
  • Experience in working closely with production
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems
  • Expert Knowledge of capabilities and capacities of finishing equipment
  • Expert Knowledge on Material construction analysis and interpretation
