Job Description

A very exciting international opportunity has arisen to come and join one of the UK’s fastest-growing womenswear brands where you will be working in their own factory in Guangzhou, China.

They are looking for a highly experienced Technical Manager to oversee the production lines and product output. You will actively mitigate and prevent production issues, as well as resolve matters of concern in a timely manner. You will have proven experience of implementing and standardising processes and monitoring factory compliance.

Technical Manager - The Responsibilities

  • Manage and train QC staff- overseeing and managing the local teams ensuring the product is made to the brands standard.
  • Control quality of sample garments produced in China design room prior to sending to UK for approval.
  • Implementing new and efficient inspection methods.
  • Develop seasonal styles with the technical team, ensuring they are seamlessly handed over to production.
  • Manage cost / time savings to the garment production.
  • Receive pilot pack and specification for pre-production.
  • Pilot packs to be produced in line with the critical path and approved for production.
  • Introduce new styles to sewing lines.
  • Set in line quality standards.
  • Establish and monitor in line quality control reporting.
  • Deal with fabric and production issues on a daily basis.
  • AQL reporting for all order to release for shipment, advising any necessary actions that have been taken.
  • Regular monitoring of the factory to ensure all basic procedures are followed, such as needle policy, fusing tests and all Health and Safety issues.
  • In line with the critical path provide all the production samples that are required.
  • Maintain current factories Code of Practice and prepare new factories for audit.

Technical Manager - The Role

  • A background/solid Technical experience in womenswear is required.
  • Must have no restrictions to live and work in China.
  • Strong visual communication & presentation skills
  • Strong affinity with fashion and trends
  • Genuine passion for customers, retail, fashion, brand and product
  • A self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Enthusiasm, energy and determination
