I am working with an established womenswear brand, selling in UK independents, they are looking for a commercial, trend-led women’s wear designer, who can focus on range development, sousing and innovation. You will work withing a small team, across the end-to-end design process—from concept to production.

This role is ideal for a designer who thrives in a fast-moving environment and has a strong commercial eye for women’s fashion.

Part Time / Freelance Designer – Classic Womenswear - Key Responsibilities:

  • Research commercial fashion trends, colour palettes, fabrics, and silhouettes.
  • Develop seasonal mood boards and concepts aligned with customer profile and trends.
  • Create detailed tech packs, CADs and illustrations as needed.
  • Create design packs for prints, embroidery and embellishments
  • Understand construction techniques, fabrication and communicate with offshore factories.
  • Mange sample process and critical path sign off dates.
  • Conduct fit sessions and feedback on fit and quality.
  • Work with Uk and international pattern makers to revise and create blocks and fits.

 

 Part Time / Freelance Designer – Classic Womenswear - Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in designing and developing women fashion collections with a sustainable or slow fashion brand.
  • Expert user of CAD, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel.
  • Confident fabric and garment construction knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with international manufacturers.

 

This role offers the chance to make a significant impact within an established womenswear brand, you will be contributing to the brands growth and success in the UK market. Working pattern and days are flexible to suit but would require 1-2 days a week in the Leicester Office, with 1-2 days working remotely.
