Job Description

Are you a talented print and garment designer with creative flair, a commercial eye, and fantastic experience in designing beautiful and child-centric clothing?

We need a super duper individual who is proficient in adobe creative suite and has strong drawing skills, who can work with and support our existing design team to create successful seasonal ranges. As well as being fantastically creative you will need to identify and understand the needs of our customers and translate this knowledge into innovative, appealing and commercially viable products. 

The ideal person will be a team player and leader with a great work ethic, with experience of delivering great designs to tight deadlines. They also need to be able to deliver work quickly and to brief, whilst having an eye for detail and commerciality.

Your Role in a Nutshell

To work as part of the existing Design team to deliver a beautiful ethically made and commercially viable range that reflects the brand values and meets company objectives.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • To design garments, full repeat prints, placement prints, embroideries and appliques that appeal to our target audience and reflects the brand. Using adobe illustrator to create sketches and artwork details.
  • Be part of developing the seasonal mood boards, colour palette, big ideas and innovation for each season through research of on-going and future trends, competitor benchmarking and colour analysis.
  • Provide creative support during the product development process by assessing strike offs and samples where necessary.
  • Handover clear and concise design and information to Product Development team for product technical packs.
  • Offer support and direction to existing team of designers.

Essential skills

  • Excellent childrenswear design experience.
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent drawing skills.
  • Creative flair and a good understanding of the brand.
  • Commercial and aesthetic understanding of what constitutes a successful garment.
  • Ability to manage a small team of designers.

Nice to have but not essential

  • Degree level education.
  • Fashion and textile knowledge and experience.
