An exciting opportunity has arisen with this multi-faceted fashion business, whereby they are looking for a Junior Buyer to work across their Girlswear and Babywear categories, delivering a cohesive collection on time and at the right price.

Working alongside the factories and regional offices, you will develop new ranges, cost products, negotiate prices and delivery dates, as well as factory minimums. You will also manage the

Junior Buyer- The Role:

  • Responsible for buying multi-category product areas for Girlswear and Babywear.
  • Managing and evolving the existing supply base.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest trends and ensuring relevant fashion is injected into the range as quickly as possible.
  • Ability to develop product with the target customer in mind.
  • Able to work with the merchandising team to fulfil OTB.
  • Oversee the raising of all purchase orders and SKU creation.
  • Working with regional offices to oversee new product development and critical path.
  • Ensure suppliers have accurate product details and technical specifications when developing product.
  • Negotiate prices and MOQ’s with suppliers.
  • Collate weekly trade information and present back to fellow management on key highlights, opportunities, and risks.
  • Manage the department critical path to keep on track of lead times, intake, and any delivery discrepancies.
  • Lead product sign off meetings ensuring that all relevant information is prepared in advance.
  • Manage intake margin to ensure that stock purchased meets intake margin requirements.
  • Plan and manage weekly distribution.
  • Ensure that all product collections are presented to all areas of the business in-line with the critical path.
  • Attend fit sessions alongside the garment technologist to ensure product is commercially acceptable.
  • Manage the preparation and styling of product shoots alongside the marketing team.
  • Ensure product is launched onto the website in line with planned phasing.

Junior Buyer- The Person:

  • Strong negotiation skills
  • A minimum of 4 years buying experience is essential.
  • FE sourcing experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Must have strong Excel knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Flexibility
