Job Description

Due to an increased workload, we are looking to recruit an experienced retail Merchandiser for a premium apparel brand, known for uncompromising quality, timeless design and luxury fabrics .  This will be an initial fixed term contract of 6months.

You work closely with the Production and Design Teams, you will provide daily figure analysis, forecasting plans and take part in range planning.  You will also be involved in the buying for own stores, e-commerce, and implementation of the promotional activity and markdown proposals working alongside the Production and the Marketing teams. You will also create the in-house pricing for all stores, and e-commerce, and work on stock allocation and replenishment.

Merchandiser – The Job Outline

  • Planning product ranges and preparing sales and stock plans in conjunction with Production and Design.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive library of appropriate data.
  • Planning budgets and presenting sales forecasts and figures for new ranges.
  • Handle sales statistics, produce sales projections and present spreadsheets and graphs and other data when required to do so.
  • Analyse every aspect of bestsellers and ensure they meet their full potential.
  • Analyse previous season's sales and report on the current season's lines.
  • Manage the distribution of stock, ordering stock, working with Production agreeing timescales and delivery dates, and completing the necessary paperwork.
  • Identify with the Production team supply difficulties and deal with any problems or delays as they arise.
  • Analyse historical sales to assist in the range building process.
  • Accurately update key merchandising systems.
  • Daily Replen- all stores including international and UK.
  • Daily In stock checks-availability report, stock transfers, call backs from store, Marketing and online checks.
  • Regular Retail allocation-setting max values and managing store stock.
  • Weekly Warehouse forecast.
  • Create sku level item upload lists for business. 
  • Maintenance of style codes.
  • Price uploads-amendments to carryover, new and sale.
  • Stock adjustments including writing off clearance stock.
  • Forecasting profits and sales, and optimising the sales volume and profitability of products, and stores.
  • Monitor slow sellers and taking action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary.

Merchandiser – The Persons Specification

  • 2 years’ experience in retail/e-commerce merchandising, ideal Junior Merchandiser level
  • Experience of multichannel environment is essential
  • Analytical and commercially aware, you will be able to collate and present data and have strong decision making abilities.
  • An understanding of forecasting & managing OTB
  • Competent in running a WSSI in Excel.
  • Capability to work independently and to work with others within immediate team and the wider business, and at all levels.
  • Flexible with the ability to prioritize workloads as necessary.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent MS office and excel skills is essential.
