Job Description

This new Merchandiser role is looking to recruit someone from within a similar supplier background.  Part of a busy merchandising team, you will report into a Senior Merchandiser and be responsible for order processing and critical path management for your own key accounts.

Building strong working relationships with manufacturers, your suppliers and the customers to ensure the smooth running of the business. 

Merchandiser – The Job Outline

  • To manage the Critical Paths to aid and maintain on-time delivery record and the information is kept live.
  • To confirm orders with your customers and raise purchase orders with the factory, and ensure all details are logged on the system.
  • Handle internal handover meetings to ensure CAD, spec, BOM, colour standards, packaging and testing are all agreed and documents created.
  • Chase lap dips and bulk dips are inline with critical path and to quality spec.
  • Maintain the upkeep of packaging manuals, allocate correct codes, progress chase artwork and highlight any discrepancies
  • Work with an account team made up of colleagues from Technical, Design, Account Management, all working together on individual customers to hit annual targets and goals set by the business on each customer.
  • To proactively provide the best customer service to help strengthen relationships and enable growth.
  • Work with the manufacturers to ensure a strong communication link to be able to ensure all information is real time.
  • Check packing lists and chase factory invoice (if required)
  • To travel and attend customer meetings as/when required.

Merchandiser – The Person Specification

  • Experience within a similar import/supplier merchandiser role (min. 2 years +). Ideally with a background in apparel, accessories or textiles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
  • Highly competent on Office (EXCEL)
  • Proven experience dealing with offshore suppliers, manufacturers and building strong working relationships
  • Attentive, accurate to the detail
  • Strong organisational ability, to manage own workload and to maintain the critical path.
  • Ability to liaise with all stakeholders, internal/external
  • A good team player with a ‘can do attitude’!
