In this newly created opportunity, as Procurement Manager your role will be to establish a cohesive pricing structure, process and strategy for a successful group of specialist apparel companies.  With offices in Northern Ireland, England, ASIA and US, our client is building for growth.  Having ownership of procurement, this is a great opportunity to make a difference, and potential to develop a pricing team, supplying to the private & public sector.

Procurement Manager  – Job Outline:

  • Reporting to the Operations Director you will have sole accountability for the pricing of product, components and other cost elements within the supply chain including logistics and warehousing. 
  • Create and implement a pricing strategy to meet competitive/tender deadlines and maximise gross margin.
  • A pivotal role in presenting pricing proposals and obtaining internal buy in from the sales, technical and production functions.  To challenge thinking!
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to achieve best possible cost savings and maximise gross margin throughout lifetime of the contract.
  • Understand all pricing queries coming back from designated suppliers & providers, negotiating with factories and internal departments to respond and resolve.
  • There will be a realistic expectation for offshore travel. Flexible working arrangements will be considered.

Procurement Manager  – The Person Specification:

  • In order to be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in price negotiation and working in a global supply chain. 
  • Ideal applicant will have a background as a senior buyer or procurement specialist within fashion or textiles.
  • Proven negotiation skills, and experience in developing and building long term relationships with internal stakeholders, and external suppliers, factories, logistic providers etc
  • Experience working in fast paced manufacturing/supplier environment
  • Effective communicator, able to influence, persuade, mentor others
  • Excellent time management; ability to work to multiple time critical deadlines. Strong project management and organisational ability, working independently and as part of a team
  • Degree in Business or Purchasing related subject or CIPS qualification
  • Microsoft Office/IT. Knowledge of Prima would be advantageous.
