Job Description

The Product & Planning Manager is responsible for analysing and forecasting demand delivering this objective working within an agreed budget.

Product & Planning Manager – The Job Spec

  • Coordinate the monthly demand planning process through the gathering and critiquing of individual demand plans.
  • Ownership of demand plans at all levels of detail, ensuring the information gathered can be used as the basis for management information and on which the supply plan can be built.
  • Set the Global annual buying budgets for Core and Fashion
  • Creation and co-ordination of business information packs for monthly sales and operation meetings.
  • Controls demand plans and analysis for all markets
  • Report monthly on buy plans against budget
  • Analyse and report on forecasted or potential out of stock positions
  • To support the Financial and sales Plans for a department by ensuring correct stock levels
  • To monitor all business performance measures from stock turn to key account performance.
  • To manage changes to the demand plan between periodic Demand Reviews inviting, as necessary, wider business involvement / escalation; and in addition, review and approve (subject to feasibility and profitability) abnormal demand / out of forecast requirements.
  • To contribute to demand planning and management improvements and potential customer linking projects as well as being involved in long term planning/budget processes.
  • To measure and analyse the demand plan accuracy for the accountable directors and managers and to facilitate the identification of improvement plans.

Product & Planning Manager – The Person Spec

  • Previous experience within a similar demand planning role.
  • A knowledge of fashion and textiles is essential.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, attentive to the detail.
  • Confident communicator (written and verbal)
  • Effective and efficient time manager of own workload and adhering to agreed priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to actively contribute to the development of new ideas and initiatives and a problem solver.  Prepared to ‘go the extra mile’ to achieve targets.
  • A team player, who shares responsibility for targets and objectives, accountable and supportive.
  • Advanced Excel / IT skills. A knowledge of PLM or familiar with planning software programs.
