This successful premium menswear brand is looking for an enthusiasticand detail-oriented product developer to manage the fit and development process across all categories, menswear and accessories. A passion for your work and willingness to learn and take part in all aspects of the product life cycle are key.
Product Developer – Responsibilities
- Work closely with design/head of product on all aspect of development of seasonal collections
- Attend fit sessions from initial design stage through to pre-production fitting alongside Design, the Creative Director and Head of Product
- Record all fit comments and changes in design/fabric/trim/specs
- Update and create tech packs with fit comments, design/fabric/trim change comments, diagrams, and measurements.
- Ensure clear comments/specs are communicated to factories in a timely manner, make sure all data is up to date and correct
- Ensure samples are checked and measured prior to fitting and follow up with factories to submit spec charts and price prior to fitting
- Provide technical specifications including grades and tolerances, ensure grading rules are followed and sizing is consistent across the collection
- Coordinate all relevant raw material and trims for development and production and manage stock checks of fabric/trims
- Responsible for the daily follow up with factories
- Create carrier shipping labels for sampling and production, monitor delivery status, create POs in internal system, manage and update files
- Follow up on wearing and wash tests during sampling and approve care label artwork
- Measure and check TOP samples and report to Head of Product
- Follow up fabric or garment quality issues with the Head of Product
- Support the Head of Product as required
Product Developer – Experience
- 3-5 years’ work experience in garment tech, product development and/or Production
- Woven experience is essential. Multi categories (woven, jersey and knit) desirable
- Strong knowledge in grading preferred
- Understanding of pattern cutting, good knowledge of fabrics, testing, technical components and sewing techniques
- Flexible and willingness to learn
- Maintaining good relationships and communication with our supply base
- Organised and able to work to deadlines
- Knowledgeable in Excel and google drive
- InDesign/illustrator skills preferred
