Senior Garment Technologist/Pattern Cutter

Greater Manchester

£ Dependent upon experience

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for someone who is keenly interested in performance led clothing and to be involved with varied technical aspects of garment development.  To proactively support the sample and specification process from initial design to final production within a product development team.  Our client is a specialist in their market sector.

Garment Technologist- The Role:

  • To Proactively support the sample, pattern and specification process to ensure suppliers are fully equipped for production. Ensure the quality and performance of products meet the customer expectations.
  • Analysis of samples to establish desired fit, appearance and construction for bulk production, including any subsequent queries leading to final approval by agreed dates.
  • Travel to offshore factories to supervise sample production or bulk production.
  • Maintain clear and concise communication with the sales and supply chains and communicate this effectively within the internal Organization. 
  • Create clear, accurate product specifications.
  • Identify any manufacturing/pattern faults and report to all relevant personnel and suppliers.
  • Maintain clear concise records of all procedures with documentation of product history.
  • Investigate, evaluate and rectify any subsequent problems within the life of a product ensuring all relevant personnel are informed.
  • Attend meetings with customers and suppliers when necessary.

Garment Technologist- The Person:

  • Previous experience within a similar garment technical/garment technologist position within the performance led clothing clothing/ apparel industry is a must.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of CAD pattern cutting programs- Gerber Accumark would be advantageous.
  • Multi apparel background would be advantageous.
  • Excellent knowledge of high-tech performance fabrics.
  • Excellence knowledge of garment construction and pattern understanding.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Word, Excel.
  • Awareness of WEBPDM and Coral Designer would be advantageous.
  • Experience of working with garment/fabric suppliers in the UK and oversees.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationship with customers and suppliers.
  • Understanding of product certification.
  • Ability to travel offshore.
