Job Description
A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Supply /Planning Manager. Looking to be part of a change management team to enable improvements and optimise efficiencies. Responsible for the planning and coordination of all UK owned internal production and 3rd Party manufacturing plants including the scheduling / management of all associated raw material flows.
Supply Manager – The Job Outline
- Ownership of the supply process: communication plans, raw material planning, production planning, approvals, act as main liaison with off shore 3rd party manufacturers
- Production planning of all owned manufacturing plants (internal and 3rd party)
- Identifying, qualifying and training new 3rd party manufacturers.
- Establishing quality levels and processes for manufacturing internal and 3rd party
- Liaison with key materials suppliers on quality and production processes.
- Assist external sales team with quotations and with tender process
- Management of BOM’s and system planning
- Weekly / monthly progress reporting
- Working with procurement on strategic sourcing activities
- Key member of the onsite senior management team, with team of 4 reports in procurement.
Supply Manager – The Person Specification
- A detailed understanding of the production/supply chain management process for the clothing/apparel, market is essential. An interest in extreme sports, or performance led apparel/equipment.
- Extensive production planning and materials scheduling experience at senior management level
- Proven in managing third party manufacturers in the UK, Europe and the Far East
- Additional accountability for logistics & compliance would be advantageous
- Experience within a manufacturing environment – preferably with CMT
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Analytically minded, with strong problem-solving skills
- Adaptable to change and driven to achieve results
- Work well under pressure and demonstrate commercial judgement.
- Excellent planning, negotiation, and organisation skills, highly attentive to detail.
- Knowledge of Safety, Quality, and Cost Objectives
- Ability to lead/mentor teams; to improve efficient and effective management of the supply chain.
- Computer literate
