Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lingerie / Swim Technologist with proven management skills for a portfolio of global brand names.  Applicants must have prior knowledge of lingerie/swimwear or intimate apparel.

Technical Executive - New Product Development – The Job Outline

  • Responsible for new development team in QA Department
  • Working closely with Designers on new development project
  • Check new  fabrics are fit for purpose and suitable
  • Investigating new developments to be suitable for manufacturing in conjunction with sample room
  • Proposing to Designers method of make-up to suit new developments
  • Challenging Designers for not moving on ideas which will  cause majors issues at manufacturing sites
  • Creating breakdown for costing
  • Providing support to sample room to ensure samples are made to spec
  • Liaise with sample room to ensure grading garments are made to correct specification
  • Liaise with offshore manufacturing for corrective action.
  • Problem solving
  • Working with machinist and mechanics on new construction

Technical Executive – New Product Development  – The Candidate Specification

  • Proven background of managing and mentoring a team of technologists providing training where needed at senior garment technologist/technical manager level.
  • Knowledge of lingerie, swimwear or intimate apparel is essential.
  • Experience within a manufacturing/sampling or sewing room with good understanding of garment make up and pattern knowledge. 
  • A sound understanding of garment fit and grading is desirable (training will be provided)
  • Excellent IT skills including managing and maintaining critical path spread sheets.
  • Knowledge of producing production technical packs and experience of dealing with factories/suppliers in ASIA and Far East.
  •  Highly organised, a good team player with excellent communication skills able to lead from the front
  • Good practical machining skills would be beneficial, to demonstrate to machinists.
  • Ability to travel abroad.
