Job Description
My client is a successful modern supplier based in North London, they are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Menswear Designer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience designing men’s outerwear, you will be passionate about the industry with a strong commercial and creative portfolio.
Menswear Designer – The Role and Responsibilities
- Researching trends and concepts for in house collections as well as customer accounts
- Designing commercial and directional men’s outerwear
- Take part in weekly team meetings, discussing newness with the team and deciding styles to be put into work
- Manage customer accounts and ensure designs are put into work accordingly
- Regular travel to the Far East for research, factory visits and shopping trips
- Ensure the sampling schedule is followed and running on time
- Attend all customer meetings with sales teams and confidently present to buyers
- Regularly liaising with factory sampling teams
- Creating clear and detailed tech packs
- Sourcing new fabrics, techniques, accessories, and prints
Menswear Designer – The Candidate
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Dynamic, organised, and efficient
- Good understanding of garment construction
- Excellent Illustrator skills
- Trend led and creative handwriting
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and manage others
