We are recruiting for a Product Developer/Merchandiser for well known, long established fashion brand recognised for their classic, quality clothing and accessories. You will work as part of the brand wholesale team in a creative innovative environment.
Product Developer/Merchandiser – The Role- Manage the development critical path and problem solve as needed.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding comments and approvals
- Attend fit sessions, and liaise with suppliers.
- Supplying manufacturers with information including bar codes and packaging. and ensuring they are correctly applied.
- Approving artworks for care labels, barcodes and additional branding.
- Managing salesmen’s pre-production and shipping samples.
- Negotiating and recording discounts and upcharges agreed with suppliers along with all supplier terms.
- Overseeing bulk deliveries and checking bulk production.
- Recording and updating product information records, for warehouse and sales teams.
- Maintaining ethical and quality reports on suppliers
- Checking invoices for suppliers and approving them for payment
- Communicating with freight forwarders to ensure deliveries are on track
- Experience within a similar product developer or merchandise/production based role is essential.
- Highly proficient IT Microsoft Office ie. Excel skills, and ideally a knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
- Good understanding of garment construction and awareness of costings
- Ability to monitor and progress chase with factories, sampling and production.
- Managing multiple tasks under pressure and to achieve deadlines.
- Well organised and self-motivated.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Confident communicator: strong written and verbal
- Negotiation skills are essential.
