My client is an exciting, young, and rapidly growing brand based in Manchester, currently looking for an ambitious and motivated Senior Womenswear Designer to join their amazing team!

You will be working closely with the Creative Director to develop trend led designs, as part of a close-knit team you will collaborate on a daily basis. This is a super exciting chance to make your mark within a brand offering opportunity for progression.

I am looking for super creative portfolios, think outside the box!

Senior Womenswear Designer – The Role

  • Must have an up to date knowledge of trends
  • Responsible for developing seasonal trend reports
  • Consistently pushing creative boundaries, with innovative ideas and designs
  • Work collaboratively with Creative Director from concept to completion aligning on seasonal direction, timelines, and customer insights
  • Responsible for driving the vision and direction of the brand, expressing this through your designs
  • Contributing to cost saving solutions, whilst retaining quality and creativity.
  • Sourcing, selecting, and developing fabrics, trims
  • Maintaining contact with external suppliers, visiting when necessary, and ensuring they have all relevant design information to make samples
  • Assisting in fit sessions and providing feedback in the form of fit comments.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends influencing consumers and knowing the brand’s best-selling products in order to filter into the design process
  • The ability to create tech packs/CAD’s in Adobe Illustrator with measurements and technical info for sampling and production.

 

Senior Womenswear Designer – The Skills

  • Experience in a design-led fashion role
  • Strong passion and enthusiasm for fashion
  • Highly creative and strong understanding of customer needs
  • The ability to work in an ever-changing, fast paced environment, while meeting deadlines.
  • Confident with bold ideas
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Able to create specs and grading knowledge is preferred, though not essential
  • Ability to create original prints is preferred, though not essential
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
