Description

This is an incredible opportunity to join a premium knitwear brand, based in the Scottish Borders, you will work under the Brand Founder /Creative Director, to create commercial knitwear collections encapsulating the brand ethos. You will be extremely creative with strong technical knit and yarn knowledge, and oodles of experience in commercial design roles. You will be confident mentoring and leading a team, as well as making commercial creative decisions. This role will cover womenswear with some men’s knitwear styles and accessories.

Design Manager – Knitwear – The Role

  • Alongside the Creative Director you will lead trend and concept creation.
  • Create and present mood and range boards seasonally.
  • You will work with senior management on creative vision and brand storytelling.
  • Work on hands on with product, style, fit and yarn development with the customer at heart.
  • Work with Garment Technical to achieve best production methods and fit as well as exceptional standards expected in a luxury brand.
  • Manage sample process and asses/approve samples, yarns, and swatches.
  • Communicate with the wider teams across production, marketing and sales.
  • Manage photoshoots and ensure marketing aligns with creative vision.

Design Manager – Knitwear –  The Person 

  • You will be passionate about Knitwear with solid working experience in this area, able to inspire and lead a team.
  • You will be confident in your ability to communicate at all levels and bring a passion for trend and brand identity.
  • You will balance commercial decision making with creative vision.
  • You will bring newness, and continual growth to a beautiful knitwear brand, with extensive roots in Scotland.
  • This role is based in house, in the Scottish borders, you will be either in a commutable distance, or willing to relocate for this role.
