Description

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Compliance Executive from an apparel background to join a long-established manufacturer. Driving compliance across a global manufacturing base, this role is key in ensuring operations and products remain ethically responsible, legally compliant and aligned with sustainability & corporate governance standards across international markets. 

The role will require extensive overseas travel (60%) and the successful candidate will be expected to travel between international operations including Bangladesh & Cambodia.

Compliance Executive - Main responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies and procedures tailored to garment manufacture.
  • Ensure adherence to local and international laws relating to labour practices, product safety, trade regulations, consumer protection, and environmental standards.
  • Lead internal audits and agree action plans with Senior Leadership Team and compliance teams to address any compliance issues or breaches.
  • Monitor supplier and factory compliance to ensure any action plans arising from audits are followed up and implemented.
  • Reporting to the Group Operations Director and presenting progress, results and issues to the board.
  • Manage training and awareness programs across the business to promote a culture of integrity and accountability.
  • Stay current with evolving industry regulations and update stakeholders accordingly.
  • Interface with regulators, third-party auditors, and industry bodies as needed.

Compliance Executive – Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in compliance within the clothing industry.
  • Deep understanding of standards required by ISO, Sedex, Higg etc in ethical sourcing, sustainability frameworks, and international trade and labour laws.
  • Proven experience managing audits and compliance programs in complex global supply chains.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and communicate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
