My Client are a well-established fashion supplier based in Manchester, working with leading high street retailers and global manufacturers, they are looking for an organised, confident, and
experienced Garment Technologist to join their technical team
You must have previous experience in a similar role and capable of working effectively both as part of a team and individually in a fast paced environment.
Garment Technologist
- Experience in a Production Environment in a similar role
- Ensuring samples are developed from initial stage to finished production sample are commercially viable, checked and approved according to customer requirement.
- Responsible for approval of garments and advising on all aspects on fit, construction and quality related issues.
- Measure, fit and grade samples.
- Evaluate, approve and give advice on test reports.
- Knowledge of quality procedures, including testing procedures
- Follow the critical path and ensuring delivery dates are met.
- Working closely within internal design, sampling, sales and merchandising teams, and to develop strong working relationships with customers’ own technical teams.
- Attending fit sessions as required, relaying fit comments and amendments to factories.
- Product development; develop blocks to support design team with specs for new styles
Garment Technologist - The Candidate
- Must have previous experience in Knitwear garment technology and an understanding of Garment construction
- Ability to work in a fast paced environmen and have a proactive attitude and fast thinking
- Strong communication skills
- Experience of dealing with offshore factories
- Confident Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
