Our client is a successful long established British owned manufacturer with large scale operations in Dhaka. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior General Manager – Merchandising & Marketing to lead their merchandising and marketing functions and drive sustainable business growth. This strategic leadership role is responsible for developing and executing merchandising and marketing initiatives, strengthening customer relationships, expanding business opportunities, and ensuring operational excellence across the supply chain.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the garment, textile, or manufacturing industry, a strong commercial mindset, and proven success in team leadership, business development, and customer management.
It is essential to have solid experience with UK/US or European retailers and brands.
Senior General Manager - Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement merchandising and marketing strategies aligned with organizational objectives and growth plans.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with buyers, customers, and business partners.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, markets, and customers to drive revenue growth.
- Oversee order development, costing, price negotiations, order confirmation, and execution processes.
- Monitor production progress, shipment schedules, and customer requirements to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with sourcing, product development, production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Conduct market research and analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to support strategic decision-making.
- Review sales performance, merchandising reports, and business forecasts, taking corrective actions where necessary.
- Lead, mentor, and develop merchandising and marketing teams to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and industry standards.
- Prepare and present business performance reports, strategic recommendations, and management updates.
- Manage production projections and capacity planning based on customer sales forecasts.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Senior General Manager – Education & Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Textile Engineering, Apparel Merchandising, or a related field.
- A Master's degree will be considered an added advantage.
- Minimum 12–15 years of progressive experience in merchandising and marketing within the garment, textile, or manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated success in business development, customer relationship management, and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of apparel sourcing, product development, production planning, and supply chain management.
