My client, a well-known global business with some iconic brand are looking to hire a number of confident Product Developers across their growing teams in Watford. Reporting to the Head of Product and Sourcing Manager, you will be working across categories of men’s and women’s apparel from initial concept through to bulk. There are FTC and permanent opportunities in the business. 
Within your brand, you will be responsible for ensuring the product is produced to the desired quality, sourcing and coordinating raw materials/trims and managing production schedules. You will be hands-on in all aspects of Product Development, including tech packs, briefing and managing suppliers, selecting blocks, fits and managing all approvals.  
This role requires someone from a Sportswear or Streetwear background and Garment Technical experience is desirable. 
Product Developer- Apparel- The Role:
  • Overseeing all aspects of product development and costings.
  • Collaborating closely with the design team on commercial development.
  • Managing the CP and key trigger dates such as overview deadlines and tech pack submissions, and attending meetings with the Operations team.
  • Managing supplier allocation and briefing tech packs, creating measurement charts, grade rules and line lists
  • Communicating daily with all suppliers and managing any issues & queries and agreeing FOB prices.
  • Managing approvals on samples, lab dips, print strike-offs, and embroideries
  • Attending fit sessions to make sure the products are fitted and amended correctly for each stage.
  • Work on multiple seasons across both men’s and women's apparel ranges.
Product Developer- Apparel- The Person:
  • Previous experience in an apparel product development role within sportswear or streetwear across both men's and women's is essential.
  • Proven experience managing buyer relationships, addressing product-related queries, and following through on feedback.
  • Solid technical knowledge of garment construction, with an understanding of pattern cutting.
  • A strong background in costing, margin negotiation, and pricing strategy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
