New opportunity for an enthusiastic and commercially aware Product Developer to join a growing uniform business, taking ownership of product development projects and making a valuable contribution to the wider team.
Working closely with suppliers, customers and internal teams, you will be responsible for sourcing and developing products that meet customer requirements, whilst ensuring quality, cost and delivery expectations are achieved.
This is full time office based.
Product Developer - Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end product development process, from initial customer brief through to final stock delivery.
- Source suitable products in line with customer requirements and the company's supplier strategy.
- Prepare mood boards, CADs, samples and product presentations. Manage the sample sealing and approval process, ensuring all critical stages are met.
- Obtain and negotiate product costs, MOQs and lead times.
- Coordinate embroidery requests, samples and specifications.
- Prepare detailed product specifications and develop sizing charts.
- Arrange product photography and manage product code set-up and uploads.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, developing an excellent understanding of supplier capabilities, product ranges, MOQs, lead times and new product introductions.
- Undertake product quality control checks, completing reports and escalating any concerns to the Technical Product Manager.
- Provide garment and design-related support to other departments, including factory administration, special measurements, i-size requirements and customer enquiries.
Product Developer - Skills & Experience
- Degree educated, ideally in Fashion, Garment Design or a related discipline.
- Ideally 3 years' experience in a similar Product Development role, with apparel experience essential.
- Good technical understanding of garment construction, fabric and trim sourcing, fit and cost engineering.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including mills, overseas suppliers, manufacturers, internal teams and customers.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and maintain critical paths.
- Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working to deadlines.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A collaborative team player with a flexible and hands-on approach.
