My client is an established fashion supplier specialising in ladieswear, supplying a range of well-known high street retailers. They are looking to recruit an Assistant or Junior Knitwear Designer to join their busy design team and support the development of commercial knitwear collections across multiple accounts. This is an opportunity for someone with a strong technical understanding of knitwear design and, importantly, confident CAD skills. Previous experience working within a fashion supplier would be ideal, as the successful candidate will need to understand the pace and demands of a supplier environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create CADs and technical drawings
- Design and develop commercial ladieswear knitwear ranges
- Research trends, colours, yarns, patterns and shapes
- Carry out market and trend research
- Work to customer briefs and deadlines
- Develop collections for multiple retail accounts
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in knitwear design, or a relevant degree in fashion/knitwear design
- Strong CAD skills, particularly Adobe Illustrator
- Good understanding of knitwear construction and design
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
