I am working on an exciting new opportunity for a CAD Production Pattern Cutter & Grader to come and join this fast fashion supplier based in Central London!
As a Production Pattern Cutter & Grader, working in their onsite Pattern Room alongside both Design, Creative Pattern Cutters, Technicians and the Sample Machinists, you will amend, and scale garment patterns for bulk manufacturing, translating designs into accurate, production-ready templates.
You will ensure proper fit, material efficiency, and consistency across sizes, where you will use the Vetigraph system to grade and make the necessary amendments.
Although this role involves you to use Vetigraph, they are open to taking someone from a Gerber background, as the necessary training will be provided.
CAD Production Pattern Cutter & Grader- The Role
- Produce garment patterns of a high standard
- Amend, create, and maintain production patterns (blocks) based on design sketches and specifications.
- Make necessary pattern amendments from buying sample through to factory sample Digitising patterns produced by in-house creative pattern cutters
- Scale graded patterns up and down from the sample size to a full range of sizes using CAD systems.
- Ensure patterns meet customer specifications and established QA/QC standards for factory production
- Working to production Critical Path to achieve goals Work with designers/technicians to conduct fit sessions, updating patterns based on fit comments and technical adjustments.
- Work closely with in-house machinists on production of sample garments
- Ensure pattern pieces are correct, including seam allowances, notches, and grainlines for final production.
- Give help and support in workroom where needed to meet deadlines
- Suggest ways to reduce garment cost and simplify construction for production
- Follow fit comments to meet required specification, measurements and fit in accordance with customer’s standards and quality requirements
CAD Production Pattern Cutter & Grader- The Candidate
- Must have previous Production Pattern Cutting & Grading experience, ideally across Womenswear Wovens, Jersey and Softs Experienced and confident using Vetigraph or Gerber pattern-cutting software
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric behaviour, and technical specifications.
- Excellent numeracy and attention to detail for precise measurements.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literate – including Microsoft Office
