I'm recruiting for an enthusiastic and creative Womenswear Wovens Designer to join a rapidly growing global apparel business renowned for producing exceptional quality products.

The business is passionate about product and is looking to attract like-minded individuals who thrive on creativity, innovation, and developing commercially successful collections.  This is a permanent, full-time position offered on a self-employed basis.

 The role can be worked on a hybrid basis; however, the ideal candidate will be based in the East Midlands area and able to work from the Derbyshire office at least three days per week.

Womenswear Wovens Designer  -The role 

  • Experience in Womens Wovens (some mens would also be an advantage)
  • Researching trends, Creating and developing original design ideas, concepts, and original seasonal themes and collections
  • Design commercial, trend-driven collections or key pieces tailored for customers or to fit customer brief.
  • Creating clear and detailed specs/CADs / tech packs for the factories
  • Assist the design process
  • Liaising with factories and overseas offices
  • Attend design meetings, building strong relationships with retail customers Inspiration, sourcing and development trips abroad
  • Attend design meetings and oversee sample development.
  • Oversee the UK showroom and booking in of samples Other ad-hoc duties.

 

Womenswear Wovens Designer  - The person:

  • 3+ years background in Womenswear Design
  • Educated to degree level in Fashion Creative and trend driven with a good eye for colour and fabric
  • Located within the Derbyshire / Midlands area. Flexible and able to travel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team player with a positive and helpful attitude and able to build relationships
  • Skilled in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Willingness to travel
