Clare Turner

Account Director

 A highly skilled and well regarded Recruiter, Clare has been a vital and influential part of the People Marketing team since 2002. Having studied Fashion, Clare came into industry, gaining a background in UK manufacturing, working in merchandising &  product development, marketing  and new business development, before moving into recruitment. She has excellent and varied industry knowledge, having worked for Coats Viyella Branded Menswear & Vermillion Corporatewear, and this depth of knowledge benefits her candidates and clients alike. Clare also has extensive International experiences, recruiting for positions across Europe, Middle East, Asia and the Far East. Clare always works at a furious pace, has an amazing memory for names, and multi-tasks to an astonishing degree. Her affable nature, attention to detail, and ability to think laterally in matching the right candidate to the right position means that she has a growing and loyal network of candidates and clients.

Fiona Berridge

      Senior Recruitment Consultant and Head of Digital

Fiona is a highly motivated Digital, Technical & Commercial Senior Recruiter with over 25 years of fashion industry experience across manufacturing, supply and retail. Starting within UK manufacturing in commercial and technical roles, Fiona has worked with UK luxury retailers, Brands, UK High Street and European clients before moving into Recruitment at People Marketing back in 2011.

Fiona now heads up the Digital & Ecommerce division within People Marketing, supplying permanent and contract technical staff to the Fashion Industry. A self-confessed ‘techno geek’ she has always enjoyed the more technical aspects of fashion, understanding production processes from start to finish along with being the CRM and software champion within the business. It was therefore a natural progression to move into this area of recruitment’. As a recruiter, Fiona takes the time to understand your business, where you sit in the marketplace and your expectations of the role, she gets a genuine buzz from finding the best people for her clients.

Kathryn Barksby

Senior Fashion Recruitment Consultant

With over 11 years working as a Designer for both suppliers and retailers, Kathryn is our design specialist. She worked as a Ladies Outerwear Designer for Visage, a multi-product Designer at Vija Fashions and Prominent, and then a Men’s shirt Designer for C&A in Belgium, before moving into Recruitment. Kathryn is always in-demand from aspiring designers seeking advice on their portfolio and from clients who trust her to find talented candidates with the right handwriting for their brand. Her experience however is not just restricted to Design and her knowledge of Technical, Sourcing and Merchandising make her a sought-after recruiter. Kathryn has travelled extensively on sourcing trips and this combined with her personal experience of working abroad has meant she is equally comfortable working International as well as UK based roles.

Melanie Coote

Fashion Recruitment Consultant

Melanie has a wealth of experience in Fashion across a range of products and a variety of functions. After graduating in ‘Fashion Buying, Management and Retailing’ Melanie worked in Buying for the sportswear company Kitbag, before moving into a Wholesale Merchandising role for the babywear supplier Brecrest. She then joined the luxury label Burberry in London, where she worked as a Global Sourcing Coordinator across a variety of products including Outerwear, Knitwear, Softs and Jersey, covering Production Management, Costing & Negotiation, RM Procurement, Product Testing and Compliance. She also worked in collaboration with other departments such as Design, Product Development, Technical, Buying and Merchandising and Corporate Responsibility which has given her a thorough understanding of the supply chain and its roles.

The breadth of her experience within the industry has proven invaluable when assisting clients with their recruitment, and Melanie takes the time tounderstand the client’s requirements in order to find the best talent fit for their business. Melanie’s big passion is Womenswear – which is evident from her enviable wardrobe and by the proliferation of her Womenswear client base – particularly in London.

Aimee Ridler

Senior Fashion Recruitment Consultant 

As a senior member of the recruitment team, Aimée is passionate about giving the highest level of service to her clients and candidates and prides herself on ‘matchmaking’ the right person to the right career opportunity.

Prior to joining People Marketing in 2013, Aimée had ten years of fashion industry experience within Retail Operations Management for French Connection, Monsoon, La Senza and Internacionale. Her customer service and product background provided her with an excellent platform for understanding the fashion industry, and her Design Degree from UCLAN has proved valuable when recruiting for creative positions.

Aimée has built up an extensive network of clients and candidates over the years, due to her highly personal level of service, commitment to what she does and industry knowledge. She has worked with a wide range of fashion businesses across women’s, men’s and childrenswear ranging from fast fashion to premium, and she often receives gifts from candidates grateful for her knowledge and expertise.

Desiree Sierra-Cuesta

Fashion Recruitment Consultant

Our resident Spaniard Desiree, joined us back in 2013 as an experienced Resourcer to work alongside Clare our Account Director, on UK and International recruitment. A Psychology graduate, Desiree started her recruitment career in Barcelona, where she gained a wealth of experience in the recruitment industry before moving to the UK and joining People Marketing. She learnt quickly, and as her confidence and experience of the Fashion industry grew, she began to take on more of the client-facing role. Four years on (and two children later) Desiree is working as a Recruitment Consultant with her own client base. Desiree has a strong work ethic, she is determined and honest, which has made her popular with her clients, candidates and colleagues, and they all love her accent!

Doug Jameson

Doug is a  genuine people-person with a calm manner and clear strategic thinker, coupled with a wicked sense of humour. The breadth of his recruitment experience is a major asset to People Marketing.

 

Elaine Mulvihill

Director of Marketing and Operations

Elaine started in the industry on the Graduate Training scheme at Courtauld’s Textiles and then worked across the business in a variety of commercial roles within branded hosiery, nightwear, maternity and childrenswear. She then worked on new business development for a leading Corporatewear company, bringing in several multi-million pound contracts before moving to People Marketing in 2005. Elaine originally joined the business on an eight week contract (12+ years ago) and now works in the business support functions covering Marketing, IT and Finance.

Likes: Travel and experiencing new cultures.

Dislikes: The Daily Mail.

Fact: Trekked to see the mountain gorillas in Uganda. Met the Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman on a recent trip to New York.

 

Holly Ledbetter-Lyon

     Business Support Apprentice 

Holly joined us as a Business Support Apprentice in March 2018 whilst undertaking an NVQ in Business Administration. Holly is frequently our candidate's and client’s first point of contact within the business, and she provides a friendly welcome whether on the phone or in person. With a high attention to detail Holly is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information we hold on our system, and by doing so she supports the Recruiters in helping candidates make the right career move. Within her role Holly also puts her knowledge of social media and fashion to good use by keeping our Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn & Instagram pages fresh and interesting to ensure we keep our followers up to date with the latst fashion news and trends.

Likes: Thai food, beauty products, sketching and travelling.

Fact: Held Koalas in Australia.

 

Janay Josephs

    Business Support Coordinator 

As a recent graduate in Fashion Buying & Marketing, Janay joined the team as a Business Support Coordinator in August 2018. After working in retail operations and studying fashion, she was intrigued by the Recruitment aspect of the fashion industry and liked the idea of supporting candidates in finding their dream role. With a strong work ethic she supports the Recruiters by managing candidate applications, and responding to email and telephone queries. Janay also thoroughly enjoys using her creative skills for writing our blogs, designing our brochures, and managing our social media activity.

Likes: Travelling and experiencing new cultures... Mostly for trying the yummy food!

Dislikes: Public transport.

Fun Fact: Her Marketing plan for Michael Kors was showcased at  London Graduate Fashion Week 2018.

 

Liz Gilder

Chairman

Liz, a former HR Director, founded People Marketing in 1989 and under her direction and vision has expanded it from a ‘one-woman band’ into the successful business it is today. Her knowledge of HR and her industry experience has proved invaluable to clients and candidates over the years. Her career has included working for Marks & Spencer and for the hosiery brand Elbeo, before taking the plunge to start her own business. Liz is now semi-retired and has handed over the day-to-day running of the business to the MD Doug Jameson, but she maintains a keen interest in the business and retains an interest as a shareholder and in her role as Chairman.
